Johnny Gaudreau

John Michael "Johnny" Gaudreau (born August 13, 1993) is an American professional ice hockey left winger currently playing for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has previously played for the NCAA Division I's Boston College Eagles from 2011 to 2014. He was selected by the Flames in the fourth round, 104th overall, of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Nicknamed "Johnny Hockey,"〔(Johnny Hockey’s upward trajectory ). The Globe and Mail (December 29, 2014). Retrieved 2015-04-17.〕 he was the 2014 winner of the Hobey Baker Award as the best player in the NCAA, and, during his first full NHL season in 2014–15, he was selected to play in the 2015 NHL All-Star Game and was a Calder Trophy finalist for the league's best rookie.

Gaudreau played for Penns Grove little league baseball. Gaudreau attended Gloucester Catholic High School in Gloucester City, New Jersey.〔Pawling, Chris. "After reaching a state final with the Gloucester Catholic High School ice hockey team, transferring to Dubuque, IA to play for the Fighting Saints of the USHL, being selected in the NHL Draft’s fourth round by the Calgary Flames, Gaudreau helped lead Boston College to its third NCAA Division I national championship in the last five years."〕 He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in Dubuque, Iowa.
